Trouble setting up web hosting with my domain

Hey everyone,
I'm having some trouble setting up my web hosting account with my new domain, nex1.com. I purchased the domain from GoDaddy a while back. I followed the instructions in the welcome email from you, but when I try to connect to the FTP server using FileZilla, I keep getting a "Connection timed out" error. I've double-checked my username and password, and they seem to be correct. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or know what might be causing it? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, I'd be happy to help.

Make sure you are using admin-host.com as the host to connect. The port is 21 for FTP and 22 for SFTP.

I am using my domain, nex1.com, instead of admin-host.com to connect to FTP. Is that why it does not work?

nexcom1 Is your domain using Cloudflare by any chance? If you choose to proxy your records (for DDoS shielding or some other reason), Cloudflare blocks the use of ports on that record.

Admin-Host Thank you - that was the reason, I had the main record proxied. I still want to have it proxied though, so how can I access my files through FTP?

nexcom1 It's possible. You can either use our host, admin-host.com, to connect, or point a subdomain to Admin-Host and connect through that.

We also offer FTP on the web through our control panel. No software download needed, right from your web browser.
